QuickTip #33: Open Education Resources (OER)
I recently attended a fantastic discussion on Open Education Resources (OER), which forms the basis for this weeks QuickTip
OER are teaching and learning resources, made available for free, through open licences. Resources can vary from video productions, screen recordings, simulations and games, interactive activities, teaching notes, presentations, assessment instruments and beyond.
OER is a growing trend in education, and one which I am tremendously excited about. These resources provide great opportunity to enrich our teaching resources. They can free us from the burden of constant resource creation and allow us to concentrate on contextualising and integrating these new resources into effective teaching and learning.
